Rachel Weiss Schneiderman MA, CCC-SLP
Rachel Weiss Schneiderman has been a Speech Pathologist for over 20 years. After graduating from college, she pursued a Master of Science in Special Education, then proceeded with a Master of Arts in Speech and Language Pathology. Rachel began her career with the NYC Department of education for 15 years. Her positions included a classroom teacher, Special education teacher, and Speech Pathologist.
In 2007 Rachel founded Legendary Therapy. Using her experience working with the Department of Education and various agencies she needed to focus on the therapist's and students' needs. Her goal was to provide education, support, and knowledge to therapists working with Legendary Therapy.
In the past 15 years, Legendary Therapy has helped many therapists achieve their goals and grow as professionals. Legendary Therapy currently has over 80 employees and therapists placed in over 100 schools.
Christine Salomon MA, OTR/L
Christine Salomon has been with Legendary Therapy since 2005 as an occupational therapist. In 2010, she was made a Clinical supervisor. In this role, Christine is responsible for day-to-day operations and program management.
She is responsible for providing clinical teaching to supervisees at all levels of their career. Clinical education is managed directly and delivered in peer training formats (e.g. discussion, and continuing education).
Christine also provides her therapists with the training necessary to best support their respective schools with special education laws and best practices. She continues to adhere to the philosophy of children being treated in their least restrictive environment and has been an advocate of working with our therapists, being part of the team, working with teachers, administrative staff, and parents.
Our Background
Legendary Therapy was founded in 2007 by Rachel Weiss Schneiderman, MA CCC-SLP, a licensed speech therapist and veteran of the New York City school system.
Soon after, Rachel hired Christine Salomon, MA, OTR/L, a licensed occupational therapist and also a veteran of the New York City school system.
This is an important distinction. Legendary Therapy isn’t run by corporate managers in far-off cities: it’s run by special education professionals who live and work in New York.
